Manchester has a population of over 450,000 & has been a city since 1853. in a 2006 poll of british business leaders, the city was voted as the finest place in britain to locate a corporate. in addition to this, Manchester hosted the commonwealth games in 2002, & has a number of other sporting connections, comprising of the city being home to man united.



Manchester rose to prominence during the Industrial Revolution, which is when it became the world leader in textile manufacture & production. the city is very proud of its industrial history & some of the mills that were in use during this time have been converted into flats & offices.
