When staging your home for sale during Christmas, subtle touches can add a sense of warmth and create a more inviting atmosphere. A simple tabletop decoration can add to the holiday ambiance. The trouble is, who has the time or money to invest in a fancy centerpiece for the table? A small floral bouquet can easily run upwards of $75 and when preparing for an open house, a centerpiece is the least of your worries. Here are some really easy ideas for quick tabletop decorations sure to impress.



Use an unframed mirror as your base and top with various candles, some colorful Christmas balls or other decorations.

Fill a tiered cake stand with tea lights with some cedar or garland around the base.

Set the table using solid colored placemats, napkins and runners. They don't necessarily have to be red or green, accent with lot's of silver or gold for a festive look. Place a long tray of votive candles in the center of the table.

Decorate with bowls of colorful fruit such as pomegranates, green apples, green pears or oranges.

Pick up a rosemary tree, attach some small red bows and place in a decorative container. Not only does it look pretty, it has a lovely scent.

Place mixed whole nuts in a hurricane vase or glass container.

Take a simple glass or wooden bowl and fill with colorful glass balls and place a couple of tall candlesticks on either side.

Take a soup terrine or serving bowl and fill with pointsettias and evergreen boughs.

A small bit of greenery or a silk pointsettia attached to a piece of wire makes a perfect napkin ring.

For a fancier arrangement, set 3 pillar candles on a small tray. Tuck sprigs of real or silk greenery in between the candles. Add branches or pine cones between the greens. Finally sprinkle artificial snow or flakes of detergent over top to hide the ends of the branches.

Take a favorite Christmas figurine and display it on a tray or platter. Arrange some greenery spreading out from under your figurine and add some colorful Christmas balls for an accent.

Nothing says Christmas like brightly colored presents under the tree. Using this concept, wrap some empty boxes with shiny colored wrap and place in a decorative container or on a bed of cedar or other greenery.
