2. NOT SETTING REALISTIC GOALS: Most people when they wake up and see that they need to lose weight (for whatever reason) now want to "get it off quick". Unfortunately, it probably did not "get on quick", so it is not going to go away fast. A person must lay out a long term plan to lose a little at a time. sorta like eating an elephant. one bite at a time. (no pun intended) Most dieticians say 1 to 2 pounds per week is realistic. How boring, however it is a realistic goal.
3. NOT MAKING LOSING WEIGHT A HIGH ENOUGH PRIORITY: If you wanted a degree from collage you would make going to school and doing homework and studies a very high priority. If you want to keep your job you make getting there on time each day a very high priority. Well the same thing goes for losing weight it must be made a very high priority. After all the results will be worth it, won't they
4. WAITING UNTIL THE LAST MINUTE TO DECIDE WHAT TO EAT: This is a plan for disaster. You must have a carefully laid out plan of what you are going to eat each day. This plan must be prepared well in advance of the time you are going to eat. It must include a safety valve. Maybe you are going to eat out, when you did not plan to. Maybe you get really hungry when you are not supposed to. Maybe your emotions are raging and you want to blow it. Have a backup plan. It will be worth it
5. NO STICKUM POWER; It is easy to be a quitter, lots of people do it all the time. It is much harder to stick with something. But you must. you can't lose weight if you quit. How about just walking off the job one day because you felt like not doing it anymore. Dumb huh! Or quitting paying your bills because you just don't feel like paying them, even though you have the money. Really stupid, right. Well quitting a weight loss program is just as bad. Once you start, don't quit. Make mistakes, ok. Goof up, ok. Just start over and stick with it. You will be really happy with yourself.
