For Viral Marketing to work you need something cool that people will automatically forward to all their friends, alot of companies have jumped on the sponsorship bandwagon, but very few have understood the target market because simply, they are not the target market. There is no way for them to know any better unless they get people who are the target market, and pay them for studies. This however is futile. What you really need is someone who is part of the target market who wants to exploit their market segment. Some smart companies have figured out ways to do this, but not many.

P2P marketing is very much unexplored, allot of the reason for this is that there are so many worries about piracy. The funniest part about this is that your stuff will be stolen once it is online, it is eventually inevitable. However, all is not lost. In order to really know what to do about it, you would have had to have come from a p2p background or have some knowledge of the underground. That you likely, do not have. In order to protect your company from this beast you must understand what drives it. And then learn techniques to make some money back on the products that were stolen. If you've been on the internet for a while, and sold Ebooks as an example you would have noticed in the last 2 years especially your profits hitting an all time low. The advances in p2p technology have made industries afraid of extinction. I believe there is a way to combat this especially when it comes to Ebooks.
