The potential growth in the numbers of real estate notes available is primarily due to two main factors. First, traditional lending practices are tightening. This means that some borrowers who in the past would have no trouble securing the financing needed to buy a new home are having trouble qualifying for some or all of the funding they need. Seeking that financing through private sources, such as the current owner of the home they wish to buy, is an option that allows this would-be home owner to become a home owner in reality.
