Money is simply a tool. Money is our invention. You cannot find the fabled money-tree because money does not exist in nature. Human beings invented it and human beings are the only animal on this planet that use it and for this reason we are able to take control over our circumstances and enjoy a lifestyle that no other animal could even dream of.



Money, if used properly, is the greatest of all human inventions because it has provided us with a level of freedom and control that has made most other inventions possible, but you'll find it a hard slog to try to become rich by focusing on money.

For a tool to be useful you have to learn the skills of how to use it but the focus is not on the tool it is on the result that you want that tool to help you produce. When a person has mastered the art of using a particular tool they reach the point where they are not consciously aware that the tool exists, it simply becomes a part of them.

Language is a great example that we are all familiar with. Language is a tool used for communication. In order to use that particular tool we have mastered the meanings of thousands of words and whether you realise it or not we are using many complicated rules of grammar in order to say something in a way that makes sense to the person we a speaking with. But most of the time (if we a speaking our native language) we are not even aware that we are using a language. We simply think and the words come automatically. A tool is most useful when you have gone beyond focusing on it.

So if money is only the tool what is the result that we should be aiming to achieve. I suggest that it is quality of life. Not just quality of life at some point in the future, but quality of life each and every day including today.

You will find it a lot easier to become both rich and happy if you keep your mind focused on quality of life than if you stay focused solely on acquiring a certain amount of money. Focus on developing a truly rewarding lifestyle and the money you need will come as a by-product.

Ask yourself what actions you need to take in order to develop that lifestyle that you desire.

Ask yourself how you can take those necessary actions while still maintaining an acceptable quality of life throughout your journey to success.

Then put your energy into those actions.

For example a commission salesperson would decide on the lifestyle they needed, then determine what that would cost, then calculate how many sales they need to make in order to earn that money and then determine what actions they needed to take in order to hit that sales target.

Once this is calculated their focus in on taking the actions and the lifestyle that they are aiming to achieve.

Any sales person who focuses on money instead of focusing on the processes that bring sales will soon find themselves selling very little.

Keep your mind firmly on your goal directed actions and on the emotional benefit you will receive from achieving your goal and soon that goal will be reality, along with all the money you need.
