not just brands, but product categories. Here are some things to consider as you make your choice.
Direct-View have amazing picture quality, while still being less expensive than flat panel types. Screens come as small as 9 inches, and as big as 40 inches?imagine how fun it would be to play the Playstation 3 on that! Because of the shape of the screen, you have a good view from nearly any angle in the room. Unfortunately, many people say that it doesn't give quite the ?immersive? experience that you can get from other types of televisions.
Rear Projection also give excellent image quality, and can be considered to be better than some of the newer technologies. It has the richest and subtlest blacks, and are very very affordable. Unfortunately, they're bulky. Some models are 30 inches deep, making it difficult to put it into a standard TV cabinet. (And because of its weight, it's hard to move around.) And they require to be finetuned by an expert to maintain optimum image quality. Some complain that the image starts to dim when viewed from certain angles.
Microdisplays are smaller rear projection TV's. They have very sharp images, and have no rainbow effect. But it's difficult to watch comfortably from a short distance (some people describe it as something like watching TV through a screen door), so you need a big viewing room.
DLP rear projections have good black levels, and smooth pictures, but there's some ?noise??sparkles in some areas of the screen?and can occasionally have rainbow effects, especially when you move your eyes quickly.
LCO's have excellent resolutions, some as high as 1080x1920. Prices are high, too, and you may have some problems getting the really rich black colors.
Flat Panel TVs, the new big thing to hit TV, are being praised not only for their high resolution but their form factor. They can sit elegantly in a living room, almost as sleek as a sculpture, and the handy shape also means that they don't take up valuable space (ideal for those in small city apartments). Disadvantages include burning in of static images. LCD Flat panels don't have the burn in problem, but may be difficult to view at wide angles.
As you can probably see, choosing the right tTV for you involves many different factors. These include, of course, your budget. How much are you willing to spend on your television? Of course, prices are affected not only by the type of television, but the size. Also look at the set-up of your room. Certain types of are best viewed from some angles, or have blind spots. Where is your sofa located? Where will people be seated when they watch? Consider that when you choose a model.
The First Television Set
Most of us view our television sets as a standard tube tool that gives us pictures in animation or in stills. Little did we know that a Television could be used in any of other user-defined forms. That's right! User defined forms would mean that most of these usability forms have come into force because of the fact that users have requested these forms of use for convenience.
And thus brings the revolution of two most essential forms of Television that have been in popular use over the past decade ? Online TV and Satellite TV. Online TV and Satellite TV have been two of the most popular usability forms of Television. Their popularity can be judged from the fact that people all over the world (Developed and Developing nations) alike have started using these forms with increased effect.
Satellite TV ? The High-Tech TV application
Satellite TV is one of the most highly sophisticated TV applications used now. What makes it so complicated and sophisticated is the fact that it uses extra-terrestrial satellites for communicating signals. To make it simple, let's understand this model ? There are satellites in the space. Encoding systems in a Television Set seek signals from these satellites. On reception of the signals, the Television set relays the signals as channels to the users. Now, a Satellite TV is different here in the sense that it would be able to give free as well as paid subscription channels.
Cost of a Satellite TV ? Higher end of the spectrum
The cost of a satellite TV is one of the biggest considerations. With so many start-of-art functionalities present in the Television set, one can just imagine that the cost of a Satellite TV set would be hitting the roof. Now, with a lot of demand for Satellite TV, Television set manufacturers are fighting to reduce the production prices of Satellite TV.
Online TV ? Television with the Internet!
15 years ago, if I was to say that the Television could be combined in working with the Internet, people would laugh at me. With Multimedia and Real time Streaming technologies developed by the day, Online TV is a dream come true. As you know that the internet is a vast collection of resources, you would just imagine the power of integrating the internet with your TV. Needless to say, Online TV has got on as a fast selling product.
With a Satellite TV or Online TV, you would be able to see or even hear your music clippings. You could watch your favorite sports action at the nearby stadium off your Satellite or Online TV. Better still, if you are a movie freak, you could catch the latest movies up on Satellite and Online TV.
There are many websites that offer you software that could make your TV compatible to be Satellite TV or Online TV. I would recommend you to buy these TV sets as Satellite TV sets or Online TV sets rather than making them compatible with a software.
