The time has come for the standard gasoline engine to roll over and die away. Technologies exist for alternate energy sources, and new discoveries appear on the horizon all the time. Isn't it time we give up the fight, and invest our time in the conversion of our gas-hogs into alternative fuel modes of transportation?
Gasoline has been an excellent fuel for cars and other motor vehicles. The energy it delivers justifies it's use. Since gasoline is in liquid form it is easy to transport and use. But as an ongoing source of fuel we can no longer depend on cheap availability. We must also consider the pollution created by our excessive use of this source of fuel. We must turn to other sources of energy.
What we need is another source of energy, and we need it fast. We need a high energy, low cost solution that, in a perfect world, is safe in its use and easy on our environment. Is this possible, or is a better fuel more of a fantasy than a reality?
Let's talk for a minute about the basic composition of water. We have two hydrogen atoms and one oxygen atom. Hydrogen is a powerful fuel by itself, and has been under study and scrutiny as a source of fuel for many years. How do we make it safe and cost-effective?
When hydrogen is contained in the form of water it is safe and easy to store. You will not start a fire with water, and water does not readily explode or pollute. The next step is to take the hydrogen from the water, and that is done through electrolysis. The only question remaining is how to derive enough energy from the electrolysis process to make conversion of our gas powered engines feasible.
How will we benefit from water powered engines? First and foremost we will be better equipped to maintain our standard of living by producing more energy with our current fuel supplies. We will also reduce health care and environmental costs through the reduction of pollution. The bottom line is that water powered engines are becoming a necessity.
What are the benefits of a water powered engine? First is the fuel efficiency. Cleaner exhaust is another great feature of a water-powered fuel. Water is readily available in most areas, and we may be able to design an engine that reduces the costs of operation, thereby reducing fuel costs. We can reduce our use of gasoline by combining hydrogen fuel in the burning process, thereby increasing the output of energy per gallon of the old fossil fuels.
It's time we take a step back from our dependency on fossil fuels. Other sources of energy are available today, and research continues. We must convert both our thinking and our engines from the old gasoline guzzlers in a more efficient, cost effective direction.
The Future Of Water
Have you, your spouse, or your children been spooked because you have heard strange moaning and groaning in your home? Sometimes when you turn on a water faucet in the house does it feel like your pipes are being shaken and banged on by some unknown hand behind the walls or under the floor? Does this sometimes also happen when you flush your toilet? Well, there is probably nothing to fear because it is more than likely just something going on in your water pipes that come into the home. The question is will these shakings and unexplained shaking be something that you should be concerned about when it comes to the possibility of them causing water damage?
There are usually logical explanations for these mysterious sounds that can make you think that your pipes are coming apart or are just plain haunted. Usually it can be air in your lines or when the water is shut off and stops abruptly it can cause what it known as the water hammer. Sometimes you might have pipes that are loose because they are not anchored down and more or less wiggle a little when the water goes on or off.
Most of the time these noises are pretty harmless at the time, but that does not mean that you should ignore then indefinitely. It might be a wise idea to cal a plumber and tell them your problem and it is possible they might be able to tell you whether you can fix the problem on your own or if they need to come out and check it for you. For instance, if you get air in the water lines, you might be able to fix these noises by turning off the water at the main source and then turning on all faucets in the homes and draining the lines. This can usually remedy this squeaking or squealing noise.
With other noises like the banging where pipes are floundering around freely when water is turned on or off could eventually present a problem if it cause the joints in the pipes to come apart or it might even damage the pipes sooner or later. If you can not find the pipes that need to be fastened down in some way, then you will likely need a plumber to come in for this. They could be located behinds walls or under the floor of the house in your crawl space. Doing these things or calling in your plumber should put a stop to the things that go bump and squeal when you use your faucets or toilet.
