Signs And Symptom Of First Pregnancy



The first few signs of pregnancy may be different for each woman, but basically, the first sign is an increase in the basal temperature. The morning temperature of a woman increases after ovulation and remains in that way until her next period, so an increase in the basal temperature that remains constant can be the indication of a first pregnancy.

In some women, implantation bleeding occurs. This is when the fertilized ovum attaches itself to the uterine lining. There is light bleeding or rather spotting, unlike the normal menstrual bleeding. It may be accompanied by slight stomach cramps, due to the enlarging uterus.

In some women, the first week sign of pregnancy may include fatigue, sleepiness, and nausea. Some may have morning sickness, which may actually last all day! The women feel tired and sleepy due to the bodily changes that silently take place as well as due to the hormonal changes. The hormone progesterone is also produced in large quantities, which may cause excessive sleepiness and fatigue that may last the entire duration of pregnancy in some women.

One symptom is that most women do not look forward to is morning sickness and nausea. Those who have experienced will swear never to get pregnant ever again, for it can make life unbearable. Your sense of smell also heightens, which can worsen the condition, as certain smells can aggravate morning sickness. You may also develop an aversion for certain foods that may last a lifetime. You may end up craving foods you previously had an aversion for. Vaginal discharge without foul smell or itching/burning can also be one of the first signs. Weight gain and improved appetite may also be some of the symptoms.

Another sign may be the bodily changes. Your breasts may start to swell and they may also feel painful and tender. The nipples may feel sore and some women develop tubercles around them. The nipples may appear darker than usual and in some cases, colostrums may be secreted! The most obvious sign of a first pregnancy is the missed monthly period. The first trimester may be accompanied by symptoms such as headaches, constipation and frequent urination. Some experience heartburn and indigestion too. Mood swings and emotional outbursts are also fairly common symptoms, which are again attributed to the hormones. Some women also have pain in the lower back towards the later stages. These are a few of the first pregnancy symptoms.
