London is the capital of England and the world's ninth greatest borough. It has a rich past events that spans nearly 2000 years, which started with the arrival of the Romans soon after their invasion of Britain in AD43.London is situated on the banks of the river Thames, in the south east of England.



In 1863, rising traffic congestion on roads in town centre London led to the construction of the world's leading metro system, the London Underground.The metropolis was bombed badly amid the second world war and multitudinous lives were lost. After the war, numerous buildings in the conurbation had to be rebuilt.Following World War II, immigration transformed London into one of the greater racially and culturally diverse large towns in Europe. London is a noted abode for day-trippers, particularly because it has got so many museums and galleries. These include the Natural past Museum, which was established in 1881. This superb museum has some fantastic exhibits, including the legendary replica diplodocus skeleton, called dippy, which stands in the museum's central hall. Another divine exhibit is the skeleton of a blue whale, which weighs a massive 10 tons and is visible in the vast mammals hall.
