The Legend Of Zelda

    View:
The Legend of Zelda series (often shortened to just Zelda), first published on February 21, 1986, by Nintendo, is a series of video games created by the celebrated game designer "Shigeru Miyamoto". In Japan the series is known as (Zeruda no Densetsu), often shortened to just (Zeru-Den).

The games are primarily set in a Fantasy world, in the Kingdom of Hyrule, although some have been set in different countries or other equally fantastic worlds, such as Koholint Island, Termina, Labrynna and Holodrum. The Gameplay consists of a mixture of Action, Adventure, role-playing, and Puzzle-solving, occasionally with minor Platform elements. The series is known for its beautiful and inspiring settings, creative gameplay, interesting characters, stirring original music, and high overall production values.

It is widely considered one of the most influential video game franchises ever created, and has earned a spot among the Nintendo elite, as one of the company's flagship franchises, alongside the Mario series, Metroid, and others. It also claimed the #1 spot on G4's 100 Greatest Games of All Time. As of September 2005, the Legend of Zelda series has sold 47 million units.

The Legend of Zelda games feature a boy named Link as their central character and protagonist. Link is frequently called upon to rescue Princess Zelda, for whom the series is named.

The main antagonist in the series is a powerful creature known as Ganon, sometimes appearing as Ganondorf (although another recurring antagonist, Vaati, has recently emerged). The action usually, but not always, occurs in the land of Hyrule. In story terms, the earlier games did not deviate much from the standard "save the princess" theme, but later installments have diversified their plot somewhat and added twists and turns to the tale.

One Zelda game, Link’s Awakening, did not feature Zelda at all (although she was briefly mentioned), and in Majora’s Mask, she was only seen in a flashback. The protagonist in each game is not always the same boy, but all are named Link. However, the same Link is controlled in The Legend of Zelda and The Adventure of Link; another Link also features in both Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask, and another is controlled in both Wind Waker and Phantom Hourglass.

The Legend Of Zelda
The legend of Zelda is a fantasy game revolving around a boy named link on Nintendo. The story revolves around the protagonist boy Link who aims to rescue the princess from the antagonist by collecting fragments of triforce, the powerful artifact. It was the first release in Japan as a launch for the Famicom's disk system.

It has a unique game play combining all features such as strategic play as well as action game play as well as role playing game play. Throughout the game old ladies, gamblers play the role of a guide giving clues. As the game progresses he has to fight newer and newer evils to unlock the way to 9 underground dungeons.

The game play through the dungeons is very unique and intriguing because link has to fight his way through the dungeons to retrieve the eight pieces of the tri force of wisdom and in the process fight off the different monsters and evils to progress. If you successfully navigate through the dungeons then a lot of hidden objects are waiting for you such as boomerangs and recorders with magical powers. The entrance of the first six dungeons is very easy to find as it is not that well hidden but the entrance to next three dungeons is very well hidden and you have to jump right into the game play and bring your core gamer out to locate the entrances of the more difficult dungeons. You can get the access to the final dungeon only if you have accessed and completed the missions in all the previous eight dungeons. Many dungeons can be accessed directly by the magical objects acquired in the previous dungeons. You can take different paths on your way to the final dungeon like link can wander off buying and selling things and you can also reach the final evil in the last dungeon without buying a sword but then it is not possible to defeat him without the sword. This flexibility enhances the game because you have more options within your reach and can play according to your wish instead of a tailor made solution. The plot relies heavily on the back story given in the instruction manual.

Many special objects are found by Link during the game play such as recorders with special powers and boomerangs which knock the enemies down or stun them. Also in one such dungeon a silver arrow is found by link which is the final nail in the evils coffin. The game play varies according to your gaming skills. If you are good at role playing and strategic games then you can exploit the game plot fully. After completing the game you can access a more difficult game play called as the second quest in this the location to the dungeons and the magical objects are hidden more effectively. After completing the second quest the gamer can any time directly access the second quest and skip playing the initial stage of the game.

The legend of Zelda was released in 2006 on Wii's Virtual consoles. The game also included The legend of Zelda: Collector's edition for the Nintendo GameCube. All in all it's a great game and a must have for all the gamers.
