It suprises me to see all of the charity being offered by all the big companies now. It has become in fashion to give now a days, I like that. What took so long for the gift of giving to become such a cool thing to do? Please people don't get me wrong, this is a wonderful wave of humanity. We have the Oprah show the big give, American Idol, Burger king pitches in for a SWAT officer killed in action. All of these are great causes and wonderful acts of kindness and my hat goes to them, keep up the wonderful work.
This is not a new thing mind you, former President Mr. Carter has been building homes for low income families for many years. Feed The children has been feeding, clothing, giving medical attention to,and giving school supplies to children for decades. I can't list them all but they have been doing a wonderful job. Of course these companies are not famous movie stars, or prime time TV shows they don't get the exposure. Once again don't get me wrong, God bless them for doing so. What I am getting at is, this has been going on for decades. It has taken untel now for this to be a great wonderful thing to do.
It seems that we as a whole need these super stars to motivate us to do the right things in life. Look back in life, we had farm aid with all singing superstars rasing money for our farmers. We had the children of the world, a great song by many very talented artist. What did we really have for our New Orleans mishap? I guess my thoughts are this, why is it that we need to have a famous person motivate us to do what we should not have to think twice about? When did it become the fashion to do right? Can't we as people do the right thing without having a big corporation doing the great thinking for us? Is this a tax right off for them and not from the heart? These are just my thoughts, because we have always thought that none of the money we donate actully goes to the cause. So we never really cared! Untel Hollywood jumped in.
People, there are plenty of places that don't have stars promoting these causes. They have been around forever. What I ask is that we give without seeking fame. Anytime you can it feels great. A quote from Simom from American Idol,"I never knew how good it makes you feel". This is the mean Simon we all yell at every Tuesday night. Jump on the band wagon and give alittle, smile alittle, it wont hurt you. It may even melt your heart alittle.
The people of this world who are less fortunate then most, the children of the world who are hungry they need you now. They can't wait untel the next fad or celebrity to design a big give. These will come and be gone, please don't forget about the people of the world next week. They need us, and we can do this on our own. Please everyone don't get mad at me, I am very pleased that these stars are helping out. I just don't want us to give only when they tell us. People are dieing every second and they can't wait for a fashion moment to save their lives. I thank you for reading this and I hope that it will make you think. Once again God bless these stars, if that is what it takes.
