The Rocky Mountain Region

    View:
The Canadian Rockies span across Alberta and British Columbia states of Canada. The Mountain Ranges, Icefields, Water Falls, Rivers and Lakes are spectacular. Some of the famous landmarks include Lake Louise, Crowfoot Glacier, Bow Lake, Peyto Lake, Columbia Icefield, Athabasca Falls and Maligne Lake.

Apart from the scenic views, there are also wildlifs that you may bum into. Black bear, grizzly bear, mountain goats, bighorn sheep, and elk are some of the species that you may get to see when hiking in the various National Parks in the Canadian Rockies ranges.

There are a few National Parks in the Canadian Rockies area. Jasper, Banff, Yoho and Waterton Lakes are examples of the National Parks. Among them Jasper and Banff National Parks are the more popular among tourists.

Jasper is the largest National Park in the Canadian Rockies. There are many hotels, resorts accommodations along the Jasper town. You can access to many scenic attractions by foot or bike from Jasper town. Old Fort Point, and Patricia Lake and Pyramid Lake are examples.

Banff National Park is the most popular resort town in the Canadian Rockies. From Banff, you not only can easily access to the Alberta¡¦s Rockies attractions, you can also find some of the Canada¡¦s finest shopping and dining experience along the Banff Town area.

Best Times to visit the Canadian Rockies:

-------------------------------------------------

Every season has its beauty for the Canadian Rockies. If you would like to experience the most part of the Canadian Rockies, Summer will be the best season to visit. Specifically, late June to September will be the best times. During this period, most of the ice has melted and most of the roads will be opened for access. And also during the summer, there will be long daylight. You sunset is after 9 pm and the first daylight can be as early as 4 am or earlier. You will have a lot more times to explore the Canadian Rockies.
The Rocky Mountain Region
Your adventure in Denver would begin at its international airport. It was impressive when it opened several years ago and is still one of the nation's best today. But who wants to spend all day at the airport when there is so much else to take in.

There are several ways to tour the city to get the feel of the place before you go any deeper. Half- and full-day bus tours are on hand that go by such sites as Larimer Square, a commercial district with beautiful Victorian homes, the lower downtown historic district (affectionately known as the LoDo) and state capitol building. Four Mile Historic Site is a wonderful tribute to the area's past. There is also the Molly Brown House, the former residence of Molly Brown, a Titanic survivor who was the subject of the rollicking musical "The Unsinkable Molly Brown".

For a breath of fresh air, you could do worse than take a walking tour of the Mile High City. Aim for the Civic Center with its fountains, flower garden and statues. There is also a Greek-style amphitheater. Additional cultural attractions include the Denver Art Museum, a beautiful spot that features 35,000 art works, including many examples of western and Native American art. The Colorado History Museum will give you an idea of the people who helped the state become what it is today. On your walk, be sure to look for the D&F Tower, designed as a replica of the campanile of St. Marc's Cathedral in Venice, Italy.

Other beautiful landmarks include the Brown Palace Hotel with its nine-floor atrium in the lobby and a ceiling made of Tiffany stained glass. There are several restaurants in the building, giving you a chance to relax and enjoy the ambiance of such an elegant place. If you prefer, you can venture elsewhere to the Coors Brewery - (Samples anyone?)

Another popular site is the Denver building of the U.S. Mint. (No, they do not give out free samples!). It offers a fascinating look at how money is made and stored. Walking Tour

Your trip to Colorado will not be complete unless you see mountains. Luckily the Mile High City is nestled within them. There are many opportunities to get a taste for the Old West too: Buffalo Bill's grave is nearby at Lookout Mountain. If you have the time go to one of the many ski resort towns close by. Even in summer, there's always plenty to see and do. Vail, Keystone, Breckenridge and Durango all offer their own experiences.

Denver can be the start of a memorable trip to Colorado. Go soon for your "Rocky Mountain High." Consult the Denver Tourism Office for more information.
