One of the most popular things to see when you take your holiday to Samos is the Efpalinos Tunnel. The tunnel is located near Pythagono and shows signs of ancient engineering. It has been said that the tunnel was actually started at both ends and the two met in the middle. It is a different way to make a tunnel. Nevertheless, it is an amazing tunnel to see. The tunnel might not look like much in the beginning, but as you walk along, you will see the achievements of the builders. If you have a fear or phobia od small places, this is not the place to explore.



Samos seems to have a festival going on all the time no matter what time of year you visit. In August, they have the Feast of the Virgin Mary. This feast is simply amazing to attend. The feast are not just about eating, there is dancing, music and drinking. The celebrations are just a way for the people to have fun and share with the world. There are actually many feasts in August, so no matter when you travel there will be something going on in Samos or nearby for you to attend.

The Archaeological Museum is a place to visit if you want to see about ancient Greece. It has some amazing exhibits, but in the last part of the tour, you will see ancient pottery, which might seem a little overwhelming, but if you look closely at each one, you can see a different technique used to create each and everyone. The museum is a fascinating place to visit. The statues and other exhibits are well worth the visit. Little ones might not find this museum interesting, but older children and adults will enjoy a visit.

The beaches are enjoyable, but there is no sand to speak of, the pebble beaches are a bit harder on the feet. If you plan to sunbath, take along a chair lounger to lay on. The view from the beaches is spectacular. The one thing about the beaches in Samos is that you can spend hours walking around and exploring the areas. The caves and the monasteries are other attractions that everyone enjoys. Many people will take a day to explore the caves and another to explore the pebble beaches. At night, your holiday to Samos can include a visit to the open-air cinema or a visit to some of the taverns and caf's. There are a few disco to frequent, but Samos is more about exploring than it is about the nightlife. The restaurants are always serving some fine Greek cuisine as well as some other International cuisines. Between the attractions, restaurants and other things to do, you will have an enjoyable time in Samos.
