Major Attractions of Staten Island includes:

1.Staten Island Ferry: Staten Island ferry has been attracting people from all over the world right from its beginning in the year of 1906. The ferry has been transporting commuters, visitors, and sightseers between Staten Island to Manhattan. The 25 minutes ferry ride passes by the Statue of Liberty and Governor's Island providing excellent view of New York's great landmarks. Earlier people had to pay for this ferry ride, but now this historic ride if FREE.

2.Postcards (Memorial for September 11 Victims): On Sept. 11, 2001, Staten Island lost its 274 citizens. To remember loved ones of Staten Islanders, borough President James Molinaro led the effort to create a memorial. Postcards feature two fiberglass structure resembling postcards, perhaps sent to lost loved ones. The memorial honors each victim with their details (name, birth date, place of work at the time of attack) on a granite plate.

3.Staten Island Yankees ? The places is situated just a short walk from Staten Island ferry, One can have glimpses of some of the best Baseball in town. Tickets are affordably priced and it's always a fun watching the action. Staten Island Yankees is one of the best minor Baseball stadiums in the nation. Some of the brightest stars of Baseball got their start with Staten Island Yankees.

4.Staten Island Borough Hall ? Built in 1906, Borough Hall's French Renaissance Doric columns, limestone trim and clock tower have made it the most recognizable landmarks on Staten Island. Borough Hall houses several government offices, The marble lobby contains a series of illustrations portraying significant events in Staten Island's history.

5.Staten Island Museum ? This is a place which is favorite for people of all age groups. The Museum houses fossils, bugs, paintings and curiosities. Thousands of artifacts illustrate the Staten Island's history, culture and wildlife. The extensive art collection includes pieces ranging from Ancient Egyptian era to Modern works.

Sandy Ground is a historically significant community situated on south shore if Staten Island. Sandy Ground Historical Museum was founded by freed slaves of New York, and currently run by Sandy Ground Historical Society. The museum demonstrates insight view of the life and history of freed black men from New York who settled here before Civil War. People can take benefits from the largest documentary collection of African-American culture. The Sandy Ground Historical Museum also provides educational research facility. The museum collection includes film, art, rare books, quilts, letters, photographs, and archaeological artifacts.

St. George Theatre

Undoubtedly the St. George Theatre is the central hub of theatre and performing arts enthusiasts. It's among most important cultural and performance arts centre in Staten Island. Specialties of this theatre include musical concerts, dance performances, and regular comedy shows.
