It was the year 1998 and as part of Nascars 50th anniversary they decided to gather a list of 50 of the top race car drivers in the auto racing industry, the idea first came about when the NBA granted 50 of its players for the Greatest Players In NBA history. To quote the president of Nascar, Bill France said that "These are the men who define the competition of our sport. Their accomplishments are the benchmark that much of our history is identified by. Honoring them in this way, at the beginning of the NASCAR 50th Anniversary celebration, is one way of showing our true appreciation for them and the invaluable contribution they have given over the past 50 years. These are the drivers who made and make NASCAR fans stand on their feet and cheer. These are the drivers who are NASCAR history."
Well since there is already a list of 50 that commemorates all the greatest drivers, I decided to make a list of 10 along with their sponsorships and or brands of the drivers at hand along with a little bit of other information about the driver. These drivers have all been in the limelight for quite some time now, but a few of them are up and coming drivers as well. The old 50 count list had a lot of deceased drivers, and I wanted to list all the newer drivers still in the Nascar industry. These drivers are not in any sort of an order, so let's take a look, shall we?

As a third consecutive championship Jimmie and crew chief Knaus will not make the same mistakes that caused the suspensions and penalties that they had last season. The two men work as a team very well and plan on improving their game plan a little better this year!
The Top 10 Most Expensive Cars
Here are the top 10 cars in Los Angeles: 1. Los Angeles Toyota, 2. Los Angeles Honda, 3. Los Angeles Chevrolet, 4. Los Angeles BMW, 5. Los Angeles Ford, 6. Los Angeles Mercedes Benz, 7. Los Angeles Lexus, 8. Los Angeles Acura, 9. Los Angeles Nissan, and 10. Los Angeles Dodge.
1. Los Angeles Toyota
If you searched for a Toyota in Los Angeles last month, you were not alone. Search results show that over 350,000 people searched for Toyota Los Angeles last month. If car searches are any indication of sales, then people bought more Toyotas than any other car in Los Angeles.
2. Honda Los Angeles
Right behind Toyota Los Angeles are searches for Honda Los Angeles, another Japanese auto making giant. A look at the number of searches for Honda Los Angeles reveals that just over 310,000 people searched for Honda in Los Angeles last month.
3. Chevrolet Los Angeles
Chevrolet Los Angeles comes in at number three on the list but is the most searched for American car. If your looking for a solid car, you have joined over 280,000 tire kickers looking for the same thing. There is still a strong demand for Chevrolets in Los Angeles.
4. Los Angeles BMW
In the land of rich celebrities and millionaires, big ticket automobiles are in high demand. At the top of the list of luxury cars is BMW Los Angeles, the fourth on the list of most searched cars in Los Angeles. Though they're a little more pricey than the top three, BMW Los Angeles makes a strong showing at 275,000 searches.
5. Ford Los Angeles
Ford Los Angeles hits the list at number five, which is a surprisingly high number for this struggling company. Apparently, over 240,000 people are still interested in searching out Ford Los Angeles. Despite recent setbacks their current cars are solid and edgy.
6. Mercedes Benz Los Angeles
Two notches down from BMW Los Angeles is Mercedes Benz Los Angeles. Again, cars are a social statement in L.A. 185,000 people searched last month to see if owning a Mercedes Benz in Los Angeles was the kind of statement that they wanted to make.
7. Lexus Los Angeles
Lexus Los Angeles comes in at 142,000 searches. Lexus, of course, is the luxury division of Toyota. However, because of their higher prices and upper-class clientele, 200,000 fewer people searched for Lexus Los Angeles than Toyota Los Angeles.
8. Los Angeles Acura
Right behind luxury Toyota is luxury Honda - Acura Los Angeles. There were 115,000 searches for Acura Los Angeles. These searches put Acura Los Angeles in the top 10 but well behind its Honda counterpart.
9. Los Angeles Nissan
Rounding out the list of Japanese cars in the top 10 is Nissan Los Angeles. Close to 90,000 Los Angelinos searched for Nissans in Los Angeles last month. Nissan's luxury division, Infiniti, didn't make it into the top 10.
10. Los Angeles Dodge
Number 10 on the list is Dodge Los Angeles, another American automaker. Just under 85,000 car hunters looked for Dodge Los Angeles. Though it's not at the top of the list, number 10 is a respectable showing for this struggling automaker.
You can't go wrong by choosing one of these top ten automakers. If you want to feel safe knowing you have chosen a car searched by many others, then choose one of the cars at the top of the list: Toyota Los Angeles, Honda Los Angeles, or Chevrolet Los Angeles. If on the other hand you prefer to be a little different, choose something further down: Acura Los Angeles, Nissan Los Angeles, or Dodge Los Angeles.
