I am not fond of cleaning. I never was, and I never will. Even as a kid, my mother tried all types of shams to make me clean the room, from innocent promises of sweets to vicious threats of being denied my allowance for the week. Well, my mother, the sweetest angel, rarely went to either extreme, so I only ended up cleaning my room for about twice a year.
These days, my wife is the one constantly annoyed at my apparent lack of cleaning genes. In these cases, I always ensure her that I do like a clean house; what I don't like is having to do the task myself. As half the breadwinner in the house, I believe I have things to do that are more important than trivial cleaning.
So, for the most part, I'm enjoying the compromise; I see no cleaning, but during house-upkeep day, I have to fix whatever's wrong in the house, while the wife and kids focus on general cleaning duties. All I do is mind the plumbing, repair a few broken furniture, and work at a leisurely pace on house expanding projects. I don't need to clean at all.
However, I still reserve the right to volunteer cleaning. I know I just said I hated it, but no self-respecting husband would let his wife clean the dirty, mucked up bathroom floor. So whenever she starts picking up the bathroom cleaning tools, I stop her and insist on doing it myself instead. And so, twice a month I find myself scrubbing at bathroom grout.
I must let out my frustrations and say that grout cleaning is not an easy task. Not one product can remove the dirt with ease; one has to muscle it for the grout to even return to its normal color. See, once the grime sets in, it just stays there, as if it became one with the grout itself.
I hate bathroom cleaning.
Tile & Grout Cleaning
Grout Cleaning is an industry based on a simple fact: Most people want their environment clean, but most cannot be bothered to do so. So, they either get their housekeeper to do it, or hire grout cleaners if they don't have a housekeeper (as is often the case).
Hire cleaners as unclean grout becomes a breeding ground for hazardous bacteria and fungus. If left alone, the grout will encourage rapid growth of bacteria. Coughs and colds will are a risk one takes when the grout stays dirty. An even greater risk is the onset of black mold, a fungus that grows on grout that is almost always wet and moist. Black mold can cause rashed when in contact with skin, and in the worst case, cause infant lungs to bleed.
In most cases, a clean environment also means a hygienic one. So special focus is given to grout cleaning because dirty grout is so difficult to clean. There are a number of home-made remedies for grout stains, as well as the countless branded ones, but I will still suggest contacting a professional to do it for you. Once the mold or fungus has taken root in the grout, it is very hard, and also hazardous to your health, if you try to remove by yourself.
In most cases, experts will clean out your grout so thoroughly, you'll end up with a brand-new looking floor. Even if the grout is seemingly beyond hope, grout cleaning services will completely remove and replace the old grout, if the need arises. These full-restoration jobs don't happen very often, and will only be done when the grout has been very poorly maintained.
It is my opinion that contacting professional grout cleaners is always the best solution in these cases. You don't get your hands soiled, and your home is kept free from dangerous bacteria and mold.
