Like I said earlier search engines love blogs, and it easy to get indexed with the engines when you own a blog. Some people even consider blogs the back door to these search engines. You can start a blog and place a link to your own website and that will help your own website get listed once search engines index your site and click on your link. Great if your starting a new website. A lot of websites traffic is generated through search engines, and search engines are used billions and billions times over from people all around the world.

3)Syndication.

You can syndicate you blog through RSS (this is a whole other topic). RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication among many webmasters. This is a very useful tool because it allows many visitors of your website to put your content on their own homepage or website and provides them with instant updates of your website.

4)Pinging.

This goes hand and hand with benefit three, because through syndication you can also ping your blog to major search engines and directories and this will allow your website to be crawled almost immediately. This helps to get your new pages indexed quickly. Ping-o-Matic is one great service.

Blogs are very popular. Having your own and promoting it within the world of bloggers will drive a lot of traffic to your website. Some popular blogs get as many as 1 million visitors per month! Can you imagine the amount of money these guys are making with CPM advertising or even CPC advertising on their websites.
