EFT stands for Emotional Freedom Techniques and is the new healing technique on the block. Using ?acupuncture without needles?, EFT clears emotional and physical ailments faster and more effectively than CBT, counselling, or hypnotherapy. There are several reasons people resist treatment with new methods, even when there's clear evidence of their effectiveness. Here's a few and why their just not true.



1 ? It Works For Everyone Else, Not You

Sometimes if our issues are stubborn it's best to work initially with an experienced Practitioner. Trying to both navigate and resolve your own emotional territory can be, at best, tricky, and at worst, confusing and disturbing. Someone else looking in, can leap logical levels laughingly, and gift you the perspective you need much more readily. One or two sessions alone can make a breakthrough. Or, ask a Practitioner for a one-off session to show you the basics and how to work on your own. Alternatively, sometimes EFT groups run ?borrowing benefits? sessions where everyone can benefit from EFT at a low cost. Search the internet for a group near your location. Or, finally, DVD and software training products are also available at low cost for repeated learning at a one-off price.

2 ? You Have Too Many Issues

Luckily, EFT displays a phenomenon like an ?emotional domino effect? ? a kind of generalisation effect. This means that, as one particular emotional event, or group of events, is collapsed using EFT, often similar events, or even the bigger belief associated with that one event, is also collapsed. The result is usually emotional clarity and a sense of lightness. In effect, even if we have 500 issues, in reality it will take EFT work on only a tiny fraction of those events to actually achieve real world relief in the bigger problem. An experienced Practitioner will guide you in to relevant specific events to work on, so that you gain maximum healing in minimum time. And, since EFT works on the energy system, the work on individual events progresses magnitudes faster than in traditional talk therapy.

3 ? It's Too Expensive

Basic running start materials are available free on the internet. If you have a friend, you can attend a basic Level 1 course. Some trainers operate a ?swap list? whereby trainees exchange complimentary telephone sessions. Paying for a one-off course to learn the basics of EFT for self help and free ongoing telephone sessions may be a worthy investment.

4 ? You'll Have To Relive The Pain Of The Past Over Again

With energy therapy, it's not necessary. Usually, you can opt to retain whatever private details of your issues you wish. Parts of us can be healed directly or indirectly, what's important is that you want to heal in the first place. In some cases, it can be helpful for the Practitioner to be made aware of some specific aspects of your case, but many times you will not have to relive the stress or hurt of your traumatic experiences in order to achieve healing.

5 ? You Don't Deserve To Be Helped

How do you know? Who or what events have told you so? Who said that before you did?...When did you decide that?....What happened the last time you WERE deserving? ?Where do you feel that in your body?...Could there be any upsides to holding onto your problems? Comfort? Safety? These are the questions a Practitioner will ask. Think of specific evidence, memories, situations, place and people that have taught you what it is you now believe, whether it's about deserving or whatever your issue is. If you have these specific memories ready to work on before your appointment, you will save the time and expense of both you and your therapist.
