Halogen track lighting is a light fixture that is mounted on a metal track that is electrified. The lighting itself can be easily moved to a different location on the same track. Although it is not always recommended to use this type of halogen track lighting in a home. Some people have found that if they have a very high ceiling in their kitchen that track lighting is a good choice for them. If the homeowner chooses a flexible track then there are advantages to using this particular style of lighting. Mostly, though it is used in a retail like setting. You will also need to determine where along the track that you will need power. The tracking system can always be added to after time. You will also need the proper connectors for your system as well, you will require either a T-connector, L-connector or flexible connector.
