The major needs of any home or office are the inkjet printers. Almost everywhere, you can find them. A home or office owning a computer has definitely one. The good news we have today is that inkjet printers are made inexpensive due to the advancement of technology. Several of them come along with a package of marvelous image editing software and are simple to use. For every project type and budget you have, there is a suitable inkjet printer. But the question is, are you aware on how the inkjet printer works?
Bubblejet Printers
The typical type of inkjet printer that is available on the store is the bubblejet printer. The nozzles of the ink cartridge sprays the ink on the paper as the cartridge goes by on it – that is how the bubblejet printer works. The thermal resistor is the one that makes the work possible. It produces heat, thus causing a bubble formation in the ink. The ink is pushed down by the bubble and it is sprayed on the paper as it goes out of the nozzle. A vacuum action is being created as the bubble bursts, making it easy to be sprayed along the paper because more ink is drawn in the cartridge.
Piezoelectric Printers
The piezo crystals in the ink cartridge are being used by the piezoelectric printers. The ink in the cartridge is being sprayed from the nozzle unto the paper due to the vibrations made by the crystals as the electric current goes by. More ink is being drawn into the cartridge and is sprayed on the paper as the crystals continue to vibrate.
All Inkjet Printers
The dots are printed horizontally, in rows and across the page by both types of printers which are the bubblejet and piezoelectric printers mentioned above. As the printer head rolls from corner to corner right and left, it sprays the right color on the paper. 300 dots per inch of ink are the minimum dots that majority inkjet printers print nowadays. The image that you are printing will be clearer and of better quality if the number of dots per inch are higher.
Inkjet Printer Cartridges
As you go to the market today, you can find varieties of inkjet cartridges. In printing your documents, multiple or single ink cartridges can be utilized by these printers. Both colored and black ink is contained in a single ink cartridge. A single colored cartridge and a single black cartridge are contained in a printer that uses two ink cartridges. In other printers, they may come along with cartridges (can go up to six various cartridges) for every color that they print.
After reading all of it, I know you can already picture out how the inkjet printer works as it prints your necessary documents from your home, school or office. You can clearly visualize what happens inside the closed lid of the printer as you hear the buzzing and the whirring of the printer head as it travels across the paper or when you listen to the sound of the paper being drawn to the paper tray.
Transparency For Inkjet Printer
When we are ready to buy a new inkjet printer, the following details are required:
What type of Inkjet printers are best? There are loads of different makes and models on the market! So what are the differences between them? What gives the best performance? For home use? For office use? What about associated running costs?
We have 2 separate types of InkJet printers:
1. Inkjet Printers with the print head built into the printer. Popular makes of these are Canon, Epson & Brother.
2. Inkjet printers with the print head built into the ink cartridge. Popular makes of these are HP, Lexmark, Dell & Samsung
Okay, so you are thinking why does this matter? It becomes significant when you consider the ongoing cost of ink cartridges!
Option 1 - each time you buy a replacement ink cartridge you are only paying for the ink itself.
Option 2 - each time you buy an replacement ink cartridge, you also buy a new print head, therefore adding an additional cost to the cartridge. Take this difference in price over the lifetime of the printer, then running this type of printer becomes very expensive!!
Furthermore, some printers have just 2 cartridges in them, one for black and one for tri-colour(blue, yellow, red) others have 1 cartridge per colour so will have 4 or 6 cartridges (black, cyan, magenta, yellow). Generally speaking, printers that have one cartridge per colour are more efficient. As the ink runs out, you only have to replace that 1 colour cartridge, whereas in a tricolour cartridge you might have to throw away ink just because 1 out of the 3 colours has run out. Again, this adds to the overall running costs of you printer.
Another consideration is how recently the printer was manufactured? What cartridges does it use? How readily available are the required cartridges? You might want to consider the following:
1. Cartridges may not be widely available- online OR offline.
2. Cost effective compatible type ink cartridges may not be available
So now we know a bit about the types of printers out there and the ink cartridges that go in them! The next steps to consider are speed and print quality.
SPEED: If you are buying for home then perhaps speed is not a priority, but if you are buying for a business then this might be a consideration, if so then I suggest that you also consider a laser printer as they are not only faster but the cost per page is less also.
PRINT QUALITY: The best quality inkjet printers for printing photos will be models with four or more colors of ink as they generally produce the best quality- also when loaded with special photo inks and paper.
Finally, what do professionals and other customers think of the printer you are buying? Try sites like PC World, or Amazon for reviews on any potential purchase. The only note of caution on this would be that these reviews focus on the hardware- not necessarily the ongoing costs of ink etc.
