Get Focused

You must have a specific work schedule. Set a daily routine that will keep you on track. Your need to have specific hours to you are going to work. The time of day isn't important, for many it may be early before everyone else gets up or it could be in the evening. The time of day isn't important. What is important is that you set a schedule and keep to it avoiding any other distractions you might have.

Designating a specific work area in your home will allow you to focus on your work. It is important that this area be set aside from any outside distractions. Your tools, supplies computer and all other office equipment needs to be within easy reach so you can focus on your business task.

You need to be focused on your projects. There are many tasks you will need to complete each day. Organizing these task so you can focus on each one specifically giving it the needed time to be completed before moving on to the next is very important. It is easy to become distracted and jump from one project to the next. By focusing on each individual project your productivity level will rise and your sense of satisfaction will increase.

You Must Be Organized

Once you begin a home based business you will find your email swamped with useless advertisements, Spam, and much needed information. Your email will be a key to your success and will have to be organized.

Setting up folders for your email is important. You will need folders for your passwords, business promotions, products and opportunities you're promoting, and one for all important communications.

Create folders on your desk top or in another location that you can easily remember and find. These folders are needed for easy, quick reference. You will need them for client information, business expenses, promotional materials present and future, and downloads including ebooks and PDF files. Name these folders something that is easy for you to recognize. This will make searching for specific items in the future much faster and easier.

Create specific bookmarks in your Internet browser. You should have your opportunity pages bookmarked in separate files each with their own sub files for promotional pages, resource pages, training pages, and contact information. Do the same with advertising companies, Blogs, forums, and all sites you visit or use for business purposes.

You Must Be Consistent

Many people start a new Internet based business with the idea money will start coming in quickly. They will use all the suggested tools and marketing programs but will not see the results they expected in the first month or two. Sadly many will quit thinking it will not work or that no one is really interested in what they are offering.

It is most disappointing when you do every thing you have been told to do and have used all the tools you were told to use and nothing has happened in the first month or so.

Consistency is the only way you will ever see success. If a marketing program has not produced in the first month do not stop what you are doing. Instead keep doing it and if needed add an additional marketing program to it.

There was a time when you could simply put a website up and customers would come running. Those days have gone.
