The above quote speaks to the heart of our forgetfulness about our own Magnificence. Remembering that we are, indeed, brilliant in our own unique way takes courage and self-acknowledgment.



It goes against much of our shame- based conditioning. To admit that you are a Magnificent person is seen as egotistical and grandiose. When in fact it is the truth about you and everyone else.

Every year in Kona, Hawaii where I live, athletes come from around the world to complete the Ironman triathlon. The race includes a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike ride, and a 26.2 mile run. Some years I walk down to the middle of town in the evening when the last finishers take their final lap. The professionals have long ago completed the course and still there is a subdued excitement in the air.

Those on the sidelines are touched by the stragglers courage. They want to see them reach their goal. They want to witness success. Every one who crosses the finish line is celebrated and those who do not are consoled and comforted.

It amazes me how often the runners turn that last corner on to Alii Drive only to fall to their knees. Some find themselves crawling over the finish line calling forward every last drop of energy for the home stretch. You do not have to be an athlete to know what this feels like.

Have you ever felt as if you were close to the actualization of a dream and every fiber of strength and fortitude was now required of you? I know I have!

Is is not an external thing that amplifies magnificence. It does not happen because we win a race or achieve a goal. Magnificence radiates from us when we are really alive from the inside out.

We propel ourselves forward, studying, learning, and perfecting the unique gifts we know are ours to express. And many times it seems all of our progress is taking place on the inner planes when nothing appears tangible. We are unable to see divine orchestration at work until it materializes. It is easy to feel frustrated and discouraged. When we forget who we really are and that our magnificence never goes away even when we doubt it we must eventually discover how to trust the unknown. We must reconnect with that core energy that delivers Magnificence through us.

It is difficult to know the quality of Magnificence directly within our own selves because we are living inside of it. What we take to be ordinary is often quite extraordinary. It is much easier to see what is incredible and magical in someone else.

So how do we Connect with the Spiritual Quality of Magnificence?

Look for and deliberately make a point of recognizing what is fantastic, beautiful and exquisite in others.

- Offer verbal appreciations regularly.

- See what is unique in others and speak about it.

Nurture the quality of magnificence forward by looking straight at it and naming it for what it is.

When you acknowledge the light you see in others your own light shines right back at you. By honoring magnificence in others you too, can catch glimpses of the unique and magnificent creation that is you.

The Connection Option: Magnificence

Everyone is a magnificent expression of source energy and that includes you and that includes me. Everyone is beautiful, valuable and magnificent exactly as there are right now, in this very moment.

As a Victim

My judgments, expectations and requirements of life, of myself and of others cuts me off from experiencing the energy of magnificence.

As a Creator

I am a radiant individualized expression of the magnificent energy of life. Everywhere I go, I see the miracle of life expressing itself in magnificent ways.

Action for Magnificence

Today I pay special attention to seeing the magnificence of life through the eyes of my own magnificence.Today I remember my own magnificence. Today I celebrate the magnificence I see in others.
