Tying The Knot Wedding

    View:
If you want to tie the knot abroad, there are few better choices than holding your wedding in Turkey. Close enough to the UK to be easily accessible for your guests, but culturally different enough to provide an exotic twist to your special occasion, Turkey is an ideal venue for an unforgettable wedding day, and the abundant sunshine in spring and summer mean you don't have to worry about rain clouds spoiling your wedding day!

Choosing the Location

With its golden coastline, picture perfect resorts and many luxury hotels, the Aegean Coast is the natural choice of location for a wedding in Turkey – the only challenge comes in narrowing down the range of outstanding locations on the coast to just one!

For natural beauty, there is one place that stands out from the rest – Olu Deniz. The unspoilt lagoon beach is regarded as being the most beautiful in the country, providing the perfect backdrop for a wedding, and there are a number of hotels that can hold a wedding right on the edge of the lagoon.

If you're prefer to combine beautiful landscape with the sophistication of a luxury resort, Fethiye is an excellent choice. The handsome marina is the highlight of this resort, and can act as a departure point for a gullet cruise before or after your wedding.

Olu Deniz and Fethiye are two of the finest choices for a wedding in Turkey, but you should also consider Kyrenia. The charming, traditionally designed resort is another popular choice for weddings, due to its tranquil atmosphere and stunning surroundings.

Selecting the Hotel

Just like with the resorts, you'll be spoilt for choice when it comes to choosing a hotel for a wedding in Turkey. They range from grand five to star resort hotels to more intimate, secluded coastal hideaways – you just have to choose the one that best suits your needs. Some hotels that are especially suited for a wedding in Turkey include the Bellapais Monastery Village in Kyrenia, the Eco Saray Hotel in Fethiye, and the Hotel Meri in Olu Deniz.

Managing the Red Tape

The peril of any wedding abroad is the red tape and legislation. Every wedding involves a great deal of form filling and regulations that must be complied with, and this workload is usually doubled if you want to get married in another country! Turkey presents far fewer difficulties than many countries, but if you want to hold your wedding in Turkey, it is best to use a specialist holiday provider – they can advise you on exactly what needs to be done, and will be able to handle the vast majority (if not all) of the necessary paperwork for you.

And After?

If you've held your wedding in Turkey, it seems natural to take your honeymoon at a nearby destination. Perhaps the best option is to take a honeymoon in Cyprus – famous as the birthplace of Aphrodite, the goddess of love, and located just a short flight away from Turkey, this impossibly romantic island is the ideal honeymoon destination.
Tying The Knot Wedding
Maryland offers several reception sites for the perfect wedding. Aside from offering the best of the country, thus the nickname, ?America in Miniature,? the state has a vast selection of flora and fauna if you wish to go for a nature-themed wedding. Maryland also has various modern and elegant wedding reception halls to choose from that will fit your wedding needs.

Of course, couples should be extra careful in choosing the perfect venue where they intend to exchange their wedding vows. To make sure that you will get your money's worth, do not resort to just calling Maryland wedding reception halls but visit them and see for yourself.

Budget is also a major consideration. Just because a reception site offers cheaper rates does not mean you just go jump in and take the opportunity. Do not be afraid to ask what the package includes, such as chairs and tables for your guests, bathrooms, caterers, whether they supply linens, or whether a dance floor is provided, and so on.

Another important consideration is your timing. Remember to book your venue months in advance to avoid the hassle of last-minute glitches and have more time in your hands to set up the place. The following cities are hosts to some of the most popular wedding halls in Maryland:

Baltimore

Baltimore has got everything from the busy city life as a background to serene garden views. Choose from boutique hotels along Fells Point to downtown reception halls in the city. Brides could also opt for an outdoor wedding overlooking the waterfront of Patapsco.

Southern Maryland

Southern Maryland is the perfect place if you want to increase the significance of your nuptials by holding it somewhere historical. If you are crazy about waterfront accommodations and balconies overlooking docks, do not hesitate to book for a wedding venue in Southern Maryland.

The walls of the Eastern shore are decorated with murals representing the history of St Michael. Who knows, you might even be surprised when a swan or a blue heron graces your perfect day. Kent Island feature great trees lining landscapes, as well as beautiful flower gardens that will surely make your wedding memorable. The boating town is right under Chesapeake Bridge.

Western Maryland

Western Maryland offers various activities for the most memorable honeymoon with its skiing, fishing, golf, hiking, and snowmobile services. The place is perfect for the couples who are in love with the outdoors as much as they are with each other. Western Maryland has scenic mountain views. During the fall, the trees will provide a romantic background that will surely make you fall in love all over again.

The counties of Allegany, Garrett, and Washington will perfectly suit you if you wish to hold your wedding in elegance and style.

Washington DC

Washington DC is more than just the nation's capital. It is ideal for weddings at any time of the year. Hold your nuptials on a romantic summer afternoon or in the fall to make it more dramatic. Washington DC's vast selection of artistic and cultural sites will highlight your elegant wedding. The city has some of the best posh hotels or more intimate venues, depending on your choice.
