Guys, we use sarcasm and humor to hide our insecurities in many areas of life. The marriage proposal is not exactly the right place to use these, though, as they may leave your mate wondering if you were serious in your actions. A very sarcastic proposal is more likely to illicit a sarcastic response than a genuine one that let’s you know that your mate is looking forward to spending the rest of their life with you. Following this very un-intimate moment, an actual proposal may lose some of its luster.Though we may have our insecurities, this is an area that you should find the strength to overcome them. When you don’t approach the proposal seriously, your mate will be left with a lingering feeling that you may not be serious about the upcoming wedding and marriage that follows. These doubts can become deep rooted and you may even find yourself asking where did all your troubles begin.I have found that the best proposals have an intimate factor in them. They have a way of touching the other person that solidifies the bond that you plan to make in the union that will be your marriage. Your mate will be assured that you are serious and determined in your delivery of a proposal that lets her know that you have found that you honestly want to share your life with that person. This leaves no doubt in their mind that you are genuine in your proposal and they should be genuine in their response (which if you have done your homework will be a “Yes").
