We are here trying to get acquainted with USB ports and cables that also play an important role in the perfect working of a computer. USB stands for the Universal Serial Bus which is used to join the various electronic devices. USB ports and cables were specially designed to modify the plug-in properties of the system and to offer external power supply to low-consumption devices as well.

Along with this, a particular USB cable, when connected to hub, can perform all of its functions from the distance of 6 meters. And when it connects to the devices,it can run up to 35 meters as well. All ports and cables contain three wires for power and a pair of overlapped wires to transfer the data. Here, power wires can provide 600 milliamperes of power at the voltage of 6 volts. You need not disconnect at the time of 'no-use'. The computer goes to the power-saving mode and thus, USB ports and cables may remain connected to the computer forever.
