Have you heard of the movie called "The Secret?" It's about the Law of Attraction ? a principle that states ?what you focus on you attract.
All the great thinkers have used this power of thinking. "Change Your Thinking, Change Your Life", Ernest Holmes said. Or, "It is done unto you as you believe" as the Christian bible tells us. Or, "With our thoughts, we make our world" as Buddha said. There are many more examples.
Now, this principle, this "law" works just like other laws you are familiar with. It is impersonal. Take electricity for instance. The laws behind electricity always say yes ?if you turn on our light switch ?you get electricity that lights up your room. If you choose to cross wires incorrectly, you get electrocuted. There is no judgment by the law whether the purpose you are using electricity for is "good" or "bad." It is the same with the Law of Attraction.
What you think about you get. The law always says yes. And you know what's really fun ?you don't even have to understand how it works! It is more important to know what it is that you truly want ?not "how" it will come into your life. And what's the secret to knowing what you want? Knowing who you are at your core and what you really love. There is a great poem by Mary Oliver called "Wild Geese" that talks about this. Here are a few lines:
"You do not have to be good. You do not have to walk on your knees for a hundred miles through the desert repenting. You only have to let the soft animal of your body love what it loves."
So what I am talking about when I say the secret behind "The Secret?" Remembering your Essential Self ?cracking open the hard veneer of a shell you've created to protect yourself and to "look good." All of us began covering up the perfection of who we are when we were young. Someone hurts your feelings or puts you down and you begin to think you are "wrong" or don't fit it. And as teens, you really put the hard shell up to be like others or to feel wanted.
Eventually you think you are this hard veneer. You get wrapped up in titles, status, and material signs of success. And you forget who your Essential Self is?..that part of you that is always whole, perfect and complete, just as it is. That part that stirs when certain music plays, or you're moved by a sunset, or are being held by a loved one.
So how can you reconnect with the magic of the unbounded Essential Self? Well, sometimes it happens when you experience a crisis. You lose a job or a loved one leaves. You feel cracked open and all that veneer suddenly seems unimportant. You get a rare glimpse of the essential self.
There is also another way. And that is to clear some space in your life to let the Essential self emerge. If you embrace it, live it, feed it, the miraculous can occur. Things that seemed unattainable are suddenly within reach and your incredible capacities are unleashed. What seemed impossible becomes possible. Once you do this, you can fully use the Law of Attraction to change your life.
Use The Law Of Attraction
What it is? It says that your taughts conscious and inconscious dictate what will happen in your life whether or not you are aware of it. It's the fact that if you ask, believe and act you can have anything you want in life. If you want something, you'll have it. If you keep thinking about this big house you want, someday you will have it. It's like having a genius to who you can ask everything.
The Secret is the movie that explains this idea and the book was on the New York Times best seller list on 2007. It shows a lot of experts in this domain explaining how things happen.
Some experts claim that the law of attraction is what governs us, like air, water and fire. What is sure is that this is not a scientific law. It hasn't been measured and relate for the most part on anecdotes.
But that's not a reason to throw out the baby with the bath water. I believe that the law of attraction is a fact but that you just can't let it explain everything.
For exemple, if you have an accident caused by someone else or if your flat burn because of your neighborhood, you can't really blame yourself. Sometimes bad luck happens!
Most of the time, this is a good way to see life and to direct your toughts.
Napoleon Hill in his famous "Think and grow rich" talks about the fact that toughts attract other toughts and even if he doesn't really name it, in fact he talks about what is commonly called the law of attraction. He and Carnegie had identified this factor as one of the main factor that brings money and success in people's lives.
Of thing is important: focus your touhgts is the key. If you keep thinking about bad things, if you keep worring about things that could happen, you are un focus. The law of attraction says that you will inevitably brings those things in your life. What i think is that it is a distraction that keeps you unfocused.
So here is the thing. If you want to become rich and you only worried about the fact that you don't have enough money, that's going to distract you. You are going to think in terms of scarcity where the rich thinks in terms of abondance.
So if you want to become rich, as many people do, you have to think like them. You have to have a positive attitude toward money and toward your future. Be extremely confident with the fact that, someday, you are going to get rich and it might happen!
