Very Large Breast Implants

    View:
Few women are born with perfectly symmetrical breasts, but in some cases an imbalance can be noticeable, causing emotional distress. Breast augmentation can often correct symmetry problems and balance out the breasts, creating a more aesthetically pleasing appearance. New breast implant techniques allow for a variety of issues to be addressed from size differences to nipple placement.

During puberty, women's bodies respond differently to the influx of hormones. Drastic weight loss and gain during this time period can also have an effect on the final appearance of the breasts. This can result in slight size imbalances or difference in shape of the right and left breast, which is fairly common. Complications during breast tissue expansion can cause more severe problems such as protrusion of the areola, causing what is known as tuberous breast deformity. Tuberous breasts occur in varying degrees. Mild cases are not uncommon and are not necessarily aesthetically displeasing. In rare extreme cases, the breasts resemble tube-like shapes with large areolas and often nipples that sag towards the bottom.

In simple cases, such as a mild imbalance in size or shape, different sized implants can easily correct the problem. The size of the implants will be adjusted in order to create symmetry. Breasts reductions can also help achieve the same results for those wishing to have a smaller and even bust. Sometimes a lift may be necessary for optimal results. For mild nipple asymmetry, the areola or nipple can be reduced in size or relocated. Depending on the individual case, this could involve noticeable scarring.

Tuberous breast deformity correction can be more complicated, sometimes involving multiple surgeries to achieve the desired effect. Since tubular breasts are often characterized by premature sagging, breast implants alone will not solve the problem, but rather will create an even less appealing appearance. The bottom of the breast needs to be expanded in order to accommodate an implant and widen the narrow shape. This usually has to be done through an incision around the areola. After the implants are in position, a lift is performed with nipple adjustment. Many surgeons recommend using silicone rather than saline implants due to the large amount of scar tissue involved.

Often women will not seek help for bust irregularity due to embarrassment or shame. However, there are many highly skilled and qualified doctors who specifically cater to patients with such problems as tuberous breast deformity. Since the operation requires special knowledge and experience, it is best to seek out a specialist. Not only will they be more informed, but often more compassionate and sensitive to the issue as well. Some even offer patient referrals where a woman who has successfully undergone the procedure will discuss the details with a potential client.

If the size or shape of your breasts is causing you stress or emotional distress, rather than continuing to feel shame, contact a qualified surgeon and attend a consultation. Breast irregularities are more common than you might think and are corrected with great success. There's no need to spend your life hiding.
Very Large Breast Implants
Your first stop is usually going to be looking at the various types of implants available - saline or silicone. Some argue that saline is safer because saline is a natural substance in your body. Many are unwavering on silicone's ability at making a more natural looking and feeling breast.

Also, smooth or textured? The decision to go with smooth or textured surfaces with regard to a natural looking result depends on the concern you have about getting a scar capsule surrounding the breast implant, called capsular contracture. It is this scarring that can result in hard or malformed breasts.

The textured ones tend to create a kind of porous surface to which the tissue can adhere, thus preventing the formation of a scar capsule. As you consider shape, you can be assured that both the round and the teardrop shape have been shown in testing to have little to no aesthetic difference.

When thinking about the cosmetic surgery procedure, incision placement is extremely important. There are three types of incisions.

1 - The first is peri-areolar, or around the areola, which is the most common. Keep in mind that a few ducts may be cut during this procedure, but that should not stop your ability to breastfeed. Many women have successfully nursed after augmentation surgery. This incision heals well, and is not readily visible, due to its proximity to the whiter skin adjacent to the areola.

2 - The second incision type is beneath the breast, called inframammary. Beneath the fold makes for an imperceptible incision. The breast tissue is not affected at all, and heals quite well.

3 - The third approach is the transaxillary approach, or under the arm. For surgeons, they are more difficult of an approach due to the inability to see the insertion point; however, the incision is most certainly away from the breast area, and the only notable issue following surgery aside from the normal recovery issues associated with an enhancement surgery is the inability to shave in the area of the incision until completely healed.

Whether you decide to go over the muscle or under the muscle will be the next decision to make. You are less likely to have any scar capsule with a textured implant over the muscle, subglandular. If you are a B cup or larger, a natural look will be achieved by going over the muscle, and those results will be reflected a few weeks following surgery. With a smooth one over the muscle, however, there is an increased rate of scar capsule occurrence, and thinner women may be more susceptible to being able to see the edges of the implant through the skin.

When a subpectoral, or under the muscle, approach is taken, smooth implants will ensure a low occurrence of capsular contracture. Thinner women will see a more robust look, as the muscle will help to add to the bulk, and the edge of the implants is unseen and a more natural look is achieved. The recovery, however, is considerably lengthier. The breasts will likely not settle into their final shape for several months, especially if engaging in exercise.

Whatever approach you choose, please make sure you investigate all aspects thoroughly prior to making your final decision.
