Envy By Go Max
James Kermitson
So, the world knows you are a fabulous cook. But, don’t you feel that cookware go a long way in making the food as tasty as they are when you cook them? You must accept that many a times you have sighed longingly at those glistening, tantalizing and bewitching pieces of utensils which you madly wanted to bring in your kitchen, but that spoilsport called budget stood in between.
Now you really have a task at hand! You have to choose the material with which the cookware is built, then you have to finalize on the pieces you would love to own, and finally, their features and quality.
So, let us first start with the material with which the cookware should be built. The first option is obviously stainless steel because it is both cheap and hardy – the twin dream of every person who takes cooking a trifle seriously. But some experts are wary about the possible dangers the alloys used in making stainless steel may pose by getting absorbed in the food that is being cooked.
Let us leave it at that and concentrate on other options which are available. They are enamel, glass and ceramic.
A very well established player in the arena of glass cookware is Borosil. They manufacture cookwares which are oven proof and some are even fit to be used in microwave ovens. A company which gives tough competition to Borosil is La Opala.
Another new entrant in this field of alternate materials is Tupperware. They manufacture plastic cookware which can be used to cook as well store food. They are very convenient because of their lightweight and unbreakable nature. Some specific types of utensils from the Tupperware stable can be used in microwave ovens too.
A very important point you need to bear in mind while choosing the material for your cookware is whether the heat is transferred evenly when food is cooked. If the heat is not transferred evenly, food tends to get cooked at different temperatures and there is a very big possibility of it getting burnt and the bottom of the utensil getting badly blackened. So, if you are going for cheap yet durable cookware, the best bet would be stainless steel with copper bottom cookware. It would make cooking a pleasure.
However, these would not be usable in microwave ovens. For the microwave and for storing food, plastic cookware would be the best option. They are not so costly, unbreakable and come in dazzling colors. Moreover, the problem of contamination of food will also not be there.
