Feng Shui For The Office
Mike Selvon
Chinese feng shui is an ancient philosophy that is used in every aspect of today's modern world. Homes are revolutionized by living such a lifestyle. At home a person can have a positive outlook and dramatic results, but when one goes to work, they may seem to be stuck in a rut because they do not have it. However, hope is right around the corner.
Chinese feng shui has rules that one can use to remodel their office space in particular their desk. This can help a person to stay on track while living this chinese style life.
Chinese feng shui is all about energy flow and harmony. If one's desk is cluttered, then that harmony and energy are stopped in their tracks. According to one consultant of this chinese style design, "The clutter of the room and the clutter of the soul are intrinsically linked."
If the work area is cluttered, a person will more than likely dread being at work and will have lower productivity. By cleaning this special area, energy and harmony can once again return to a person and hopefully increase productivity.
Another way to approach the art of Chinese feng shui is to have items placed in certain areas of the desk. This placement should include items that deal with the five elements that are used throughout this chinese style design. These elements are wood, fire, earth, metal, and water.
According to feng shui consultants, an office desk should have the following placement: in the north corner a cup of coffee or tea, the northeast corner a crystal paperweight, the northwest should have a computer terminal, the east display fresh flowers, the southeast a small green plant, the south a lamp or something red, and the west should have a golden ingot displayed. a golden ingot is similar to a boat and symbolizes abundance. This is one of the items that can be easily found for such chinese style design.
Chinese feng shui can be used in every aspect of one's life including the business office. By using the five main elements of such design to situate one's desk, an individual can ensure that their feng shui lifestyle is carried throughout every aspect of their life.
Their productivity will more than likely be enhanced, and this can only make an employer smile with joy. However, before placing items correctly on the desk, one must clean up their space and this can take time and effort, but the rewards are too numerous to ignore. Chinese feng shui is a great solution to the clutter that one constantly sees in an office.
