There are many parenting milestones that will occur during a child's lifetime. Some of those milestones occur before the child is born or at home. Some parents find the idea of leaving their child to be a monumental task, and completing the milestone without emotion is almost impossible.

Some parenting milestones are wildly celebrated events. When a child cuts the first tooth, there is normally a great deal of fanfare over the occasion. As the child excels in sports and receives excellent grades, parents will begin to check off the milestones that they created during the pregnancy. Many evenings were spent creating these milestones and as each one of them are achieved the parents feel that they are achieving a dream of a lifetime.

When they see their child graduate from high school they feel totally blessed and know that a very great milestone has been reached. When they see a well-balanced child who is happy with the life that they lead, they will know that they have accomplished all of the dreams that they established for their child so long ago.
