Providence and Newport are two of the largest cities in New England.

The capital city of Providence has undergone somewhat of a rebirth since the 1990's. The city is steeped in heritage and has one of the best universities in New England, Brown University. Benefit Street, the ?Mile of History? is lined with 18th and 19th Century houses and wonderful architecture take a stroll around Rhode Island School of Design along North Main Street and towards college hill and the University. At the heart of the downtown metropolis are the shopping malls of; the older, Arcade and Providence Place Mall as well as some smaller shops. If you would like to explore further afield you will find the Roger Williams Park with its zoo and carousel outside of town.

There is plenty of choice for dining in Federal Hill and ?Little Italy? is a popular venue. New England is a world class destination and because of the size of Rhode Island, visitors can have the best of both worlds.
