Cheese is the most widely-consumed milk-based food aside from milk itself. Children love to munch it with its flavorful and milky taste, while remaining a top ingredient added to most food and dishes. In some pars of the world, cheese is sold in blocks or in the shape of a wheel covered with colorful wrappers, which makes them all the more attractive. Since then, cheese began to be produced for mass consumption, up to its recent popularity.

Though they were the first to produce this delicious and nutritious food, ancient cheese makers lack the equipment that benefits the modern day cheese maker: the cheese press. The cheese press is very important in making cheese because it ?presses? the milk to make it finer, eliminating any sediment that may contaminate the milk. By using a modern cheese press, the cheese is made finer and tastier without the roughness in texture that may result from not being pressed properly.
Replacing the Old Ways
In some primitive communities, the cheese press is a tangible symbol of modernity in the industry. It has replaced animals, such as buffaloes, which are used in pressing the milk. Before, buffaloes were made to run in circles tied to a center where a crude form of mill or grinder is operated by the animal's movement. This process is very slow and does not properly press the milk as is required. With the modern cheese press around, the tired buffalo may soon see some rest.

▪ A container for the milk. Some large containers can store up to two gallons of milk, while some may store only a few liters. ▪ A pressure regulator. A pressure regulator monitors the amount of pressure exerted on the milk in the process of ?pressing? it. With it one will know whether enough pressure is available.
