What would the net be like without Ebay? For those of you who are not members, you will see that Ebay has it's own culture. Ebay connects sellers and buyers from all over the country; all over the world. The item that you can't buy at your local department store you can find on Ebay.
I have been a Ebay user since the start of 1998. My first buy was June 18, 1998. I probably purchased a crappy laser pointer or something similar sub-standard. Yes, I was a member when there were little or no fees. A time when digital products and webhosting auctions were nonexistent. Ebay has indeed changed. I remember my first sale: April 29, 1999, A Mark McGwire baseball card. At the time, it was difficult to part that baseball card! But, I needed extra money and sold the card for $95. I was excited! (I was 21 at the time). 9 years have passed, I have a feedback score of 100% and proud of it! At times, however,it seems tough, and sometimes impossible to run with the huge Powersellers and online companies placing their products and services in every category imaginable.
I have greatly enjoyed my Ebay experience. But, as I said before, it is definitely hard to compete. I have sold only 27 products since my membership with Ebay began 9 years ago. Perhaps I am a bit lazy but at the same time, I'm a bit intimidated. I have tried my hand at ebook and script sales, but you need to sell tons to make money!
The Opportunity
During my journey on "how to make money online," I discovered the Ebay affiliate program. Don't you ever ponder where the seller fees you are paying are going? Well, most of the fees are going to Ebay and a portion goes to affiliates.
Hmm, I am not making much money with Ebay selling my own stuff, why don't I try to make money off of other people's products!
I visited Ebay's affiliate page and was sent to Commission Junction. Commission Junction handles Ebay's affiliate program and is very reputable. I took a couple minutes to signup and I was ready to start. What in the world do I do next?
I am pretty familiar with html and such, but had no clue how to put Ebay items on my pages. From there, I did some research on the Ebay Affiliate Program and stumbled across this website script called BANS: Build a Niche Store. Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE, had been talking about the success of Build a Niche Store.
I was pretty excited about the reviews the Build a Niche Store had received. I bought the script for $97 which gave me the rights to use on an unlimited amount of websites. (I am working on 13 websites as we speak). The first & second websites that I created were indexed by Google in 24 hours! The cool thing about this program is that it optimizes your pages so that your website will be seen on search engines. My very first site is on page one of Google for a very competitive keyword!
Build a Niche Store will help you easily create a site that can be geared towards any niche you pick from Ebay's website. Ebay products in your category will automatically be fed into your site If someone bids and wins an auction through your site, you are paid money. If someone signs up for and account on Ebay through your site, you earn a commission.
If you aren't familiar on how to create a website and have it optimized for search engines, The script will definitely put you in the right place. Build as many niche sites as you want and have a great time with it.
