. If you knew what makes you feel loved, that could significantly help you to get a lot more of it, wouldn’t it. It would be great if you knew for certain exactly what it required for you to feel really loved. You could then proceed and find it whenever you needed it, rather than hanging around for it to fall out of the sky onto your head. Who says you can’t ask for love when you need it, especially if you . Let’s do a little home work together to focus us closer to that result.
Let’s take a minute to think about what love looks like to YOU, by answering these questions for yourself!
How would you recognize love were you to see it or discover it? (e.g. love’s qualities, love’s actions, attitudes, emotions, responses, etc.) Make a mental note of what comes to mind.
alternatively ask yourself ‘how do I recognize that I have been really loved by someone?’
How do you ?
How do you know that you are being loved – what do you observe happening, what do you feel and experience, what alerts you that this is love and not something else?
Let’s get more specific - think of somebody you know well (Your best friend? A close family member? Your life partner or a potential one?)
Now, what has to ?
Note in your mind at least two important elements that represent “love" to you?
Love Element 1.
Love Element 2.
Love Element 3.
What were they?
Perhaps personal attention or loving touch, quality time together, acts of service to help you, special gifts, maybe encouraging words . . .
You have just made a vital discovery as to what presses your “I feel loved" button. This is of immeasurable value. Now you can actively pursue and even request it. Take a moment right now to ask God to help you to feel loved, and feel it more often. Pray with me.
“Dear God. I want to feel loved more often. Assist me to know what triggers in me to feel and know that I am loved, and how to get it from the right places and the right people. Your child in Jesus Name. Amen"
