Some of the guests that were present at the event which was scheduled at 16:45, finishing at 18:00, are the president of the Comit? Ol?mpico Italiano (CONI) Gianni Petrucci and the president of the Federaci'n Italiana de Ciclismo (FCI) Renato Di Rocco.
The winners of the last seven editions of the Italian trip were as well present; Stefano
Garzelli who won in 2000, Gilberto Simoni (2001 and 2003), Paolo Savoldelli (2002 & 2005), Damiano Cuneco (2004), and Ivan Basso (2006).
The Italian trip will start in Cerde'a in order to celebrate the bicentenary of the birth of Giusepe Garibaldi with a clockwise race of 24 kilometers. The Giro will have 8 stages for sprinters, 5 mountain stages, 5 of medium difficulty and three cronos.
During the race the drivers will have to pass the Lavaredo summit which hasn't been climbed since 1989.
All the cyclists who went to the presentation agreed that the route is positive qualifying the event as a ?spectacle?.
The Giro de Italia organization chose the Spaniard teams: Caisse d'Epargne, the Euskaltel and the Saunier Duval to be part of the 22 teams that will take the start line of the competition next May 12th.
