Get Into Dental School
Jessica Thomson
We all love our teeth, especially the milk teeth we used to have during our childhood. But, with the growing age, the numerous types of problems also start to occur. Our bones get weaker, and so do our teeth. We think our teeth are good and strong, but actually they are not. With our age and wrong eating and brushing habits, our teeth also face numerous problems like root canals, chipping of the enamel, cracking of the teeth, decaying, lost fillings etc. Sometimes it so happens that the surface of the teeth face various types of problems while the roots are completely intact. This is exactly when the dentists suggest you to get your affected teeth crowned.
Dental crown is a term used more frequently to describe various other dental procedures which use the different types of materials. Dental crown is like a cap placed over the tooth suffering from some problems like chipping, decaying etc. The cap protects the tooth by covering it and thus restores its shape, size and most importantly the strength. The dental crown thus protects our tooth and makes it look more natural and attractive. The applied to our teeth give them more durability and some stability to the adverse condition of your tooth.
People prefer to undergo dental crown technique to protect their teeth from decaying or to hide the broken tooth caused due to some mishaps etc. dental crowns improve the decaying of the tooth and also tend to repair the problems like erosion. Here are some of the very common reasons why dental crowns are needed by various people.
1Dental crowns can be used to hide the dental implants.
2They can be used to hold the dental bridge in its right place.
3To hide the broken tooth or the discolored tooth.
4Dental crown is used sometimes to restore the broken or decaying tooth.
5They are sometimes used to protect the dental fillings in the teeth.
6They are also used to hold and protect the weak teeth from breaking.
To get you tooth crowned and thus protected properly, just two visits to the dentist are required. There are various materials available used to get the teeth crowned. Some of the most popular materials used to get the teeth crowned include the following.
1Porcelain: the porcelain dental crowns are strong like the metals, but the reason why they are used extensively is that they make the crowned tooth look as natural as the other original teeth.
2Resin: resins are the least expensive crowns and also don't last as long as the other crowns.
3Metals: gold, silver and other alloys of various metals are used to crown the tooth. The only problem with these is that they don't look like the other natural teeth.
4Pure porcelain crowns: these are the best looking crowns which look as similar as the natural teeth. These are stronger than the other types of crowns.
