I have tried multiple ways to get my site indexed and my site is crawler friendly, but still my site doesn't show up in Google search.

Try creating your blog with wordpress.org which is a very good free blogging software. As this is open source (no-one and everyone owns it) there are 100s of tools and widgets and templates available to provide a good website to your visitors.

These tools include options to create forums, submit your blog to various social bookmarks and websites like linkedin, facebook, twitter etc.

If SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is so easy why isn't everyone doing it?

SEO is easy - get the right keywords, use meta tags, get good relevant content and submit site to right places. But that doesn't mean it is not time consuming. Neither does it mean that you can get top ten ranking in google overnight.

Understanding SEO concepts is Easy, but implementation requires lot of hard work.

I don't think google adsense ads depend upon number of blog posts. Is google adsense not showing anything or is it showing public service ads?

BTW there are a lot of other advertising websites which work in conjunction with google adsense. They show there ads when google is not showing any. One such site is Adbrite.

How much money can I make with google adsense? with how much work being put in (1hour a day)?

I would ask a different question - why stick with just Adsense? Why not combination of Adsense with Adbrite or tons of other affiliate marketing websites out there with cool image, toolbar, flash, on-demand content based widgets to make you more money?
