Quinto, who plays the menacing supervillain Sylar on the show, has reached new heights of popularity. However, since many viewers have come to identify him with his evil character, it is not surprising that upon encountering Quinto in real life, there are some who choose to stay away. Quinto is not dissuaded by this fearful reaction, and even takes it a sign that he has done a good job as an actor. Perhaps the reason why he is so convincing as Sylar is because he enjoys playing the part. In fact, Quinto considers Sylar's dual personalities as one of his best traits.
Still, he is quick to point out that not only is he such a far cry from his character on television, he is also quite a sociable person. There are, of course, those who come up to Quinto mainly to ask about what's going to happen in upcoming episode, but he says that he, like his co-stars, are not allowed to leak out anything with regards to the future shows. However, he did say that the season finale will be shown in two parts.
Since Quinto enjoys socializing, he does not mind going to conventions and talking to the people, especially when they are real avid followers of Heroes. For him, he not only sees it as an opportunity to extend his gratitude to the fans, but also a way to meaningfully converse with them.
His family and friends have been very supportive of his work on the show, and getting the role wasn't exactly a walk in the park. Although his whole audition process was over in less than two weeks, he had to go up against a varied bunch of Sylar hopefuls.
