History Of Harley Davidson
Darren Barnett
Want to cruise around with wind blowing through your hair' Do you want something powerful and fast? Then a Harley-Davidson is right for you. Up to 750 CC in the Heavyweight bikes, the bikes are super quick and have great miles per gallon. . For more than one century of motorcycle manufacturing, the company had gone through several times where its toughness is challenged. Of course, every Harley-Davidson part contributes on how the Harley performs. The suspension provides the smooth ride to the Harley. The seat gives the rider comfort while cruising down the road. The infamous v-engine gives each Harley-Davidson motorcycle the power to conquer roads. This is the reason why there are several Harley-Davidson parts available just to provide better performance to the motorcycle. There are also several Harley-Davidson parts that are made to transform the intriguing Harley into a more interesting motorcycle on the road.
In 1901 at the age of 21, William Harley drew up plans to make a 116 cc engine. The engine was designed for use in a regular pedal-bicycle frame. Over the next two years Harley and his childhood friend Arthur Davidson labored on their motor-bicycle using the machine shop at the home of their friend, Henry Melk. When it was completed the boys found their power-cycle unable to conquer Milwaukee's modest hills without pedal assistance. In 1905, small advertisements were placed in the "Automobile and Cycle Trade Journal" that offered bare Harley-Davidson engines to the do-it-yourself trade. IN April of 1905 Harley-Davidson motorcycles were being sold in a limited basis.
That year the first Harley-Davidson dealer, sold three bikes from the twelve or so built in the backyard shed. In 1906, Harley and the Davidsons built their first factory on Chestnut Street, which is the headquarters to the company to this day. Despite the competition, Harley-Davidson was already pulling ahead of Indian and would dominate motorcycle racing after 1914. Production that year swelled to 16,284 machines.
If owning a Harley-Davidson is not enough, then you need other things with the trademark Harley-Davidson logo on them. There is a wide array of Harley-Davidson apparel you can buy to complete your look and more importantly to make your ride a smooth and safe one. Some of the apparel includes helmets, leather jackets and pants, and sunglass. Riding on a motorcycle is dangerous enough but without a helmet is just crazy. Protect yourself from head injuries with a helmet. Leather jackets and pants may be popular in giving a rider that bad boy look or a menacing image, one who terrorizes people. But the truth behind leather jackets is that it gives the rider ample protection from wind, dust, sand. Sunglasses keep road debris and dust out of your eyes. All these things go hand in hand to make your Harley-Davidson experience a great one.
