Home Remedies For High Blood Pressure
Juliet Cohen
Blood pressure is the force in the arteries when the heart beats (systolic pressure) and when the heart is at rest (diastolic pressure). High blood pressure is a blood pressure reading of 140/90 mmHg or higher. High blood pressure can betide in children or adults, but it's more common among people over age 35. It may run in families, but many people with a strong family history of high blood pressure never have it. People with diabetes mellitus, gout or kidney disease are more likely to have high blood pressure, too. High blood pressure typically develops without signs or symptoms. And it affects nearly everyone eventually. Affecting approximately one in four adults in the United States, high blood pressure is clearly a major public health problem. High blood pressure usually has no symptoms, but it can cause serious problems such as stroke, heart failure, heart attack and kidney failure.
In the UK, about half of people over 65, and about 1 in 4 middle aged adults, have high blood pressure. Certain medications - including birth control pills, cold remedies, capable of relieving congestion,over-the-counter pain relievers and some prescription drugs - also may cause secondary hypertension. High blood pressure is particularly common among blacks, often developing at an earlier age than it does in whites. Difficult situation, such as stroke and heart attack, also are more common in blacks. The cause may be cushing's syndrome, kidney disease, taking certain medicines e.g. oral contraceptives or, rarely, a tumour of the adrenaline-producing cells in the adrenal gland. Although high blood pressure is most simple in adults, children may be at risk, too. For some children, high blood pressure is caused by problems with the kidneys or heart.
Sometimes blood pressure stays too high even when a person makes these kinds of healthy changes. Losing weight and doing regular physical activity can reduce the blood pressure further. Beta blockers medications reduce the workload on your heart, causing your heart to beat slower and with less force. Eat a healthy diet-not much fatty food such as fatty meats, cheeses, full-cream milk, fried food, butter, etc. Many home remedies help for relief blood pressure. Take four leaves of Tulsi (Holy Basil) and two leaves of Neem with 2-4 teaspoonfuls of water, empty stomach for 5-7 days. Baked potatoes are best for lowering the blood pressure. Take Spiegel seeds in 1-2 teaspoons of curd. Drink a glass of raw beetroot juice 2 times a day, for at least a week.
