Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace topped the UK album chart and went platinum in Australia and New Zealand in its first week. The album has been certified Gold in the US, selling 168,668 copies in its first week and is entered at the Billboard200 album chart also. The album gained place in the Modern Rock Chart, with "The Pretender." This Foo Fighters latest studio album is nominated in a 2008 Grammy for Album of the Year and Best Rock Album. Its song "The Pretender" has been selected for Record of the Year, Best Rock Song, and Best Hard Rock Performance.
