There can be fewer places where you can go on holiday (vacation) to, from the UK especially, cheaper than the Costa Blanca, Spain. With the budget airlines virtually giving away flights purchased more than a few months in advance to both the Costa Blanca airports, Alicante and Murcia (technically in the Costa Calida) the possibility of frequent breaks has become ever more affordable. Whole families can now fly to Spain for under a hundred pounds!

To complete the package all you need is some decent accommodation, either a villa or apartment holiday rental and these are plentiful. Off peak two bedroom apartments can be found on the Costa Blanca for as little as 125 euros (less than 100 UK pounds or 200 USD), this is the price for the apartment and not per person. As long as you follow a few basic rules and guidelines you will then be able to enjoy a relaxing few days in the sunshine.

The only other cost once you arrive on the Costa Blanca will be to get from the airport to your holiday villa or apartment. My personal choice is to hire a car as it gives you greater flexibility while you are there, but taxis or specialist airport transfers can be booked online nowadays, the choice is yours.

With so many holiday rentals to choose from on the Costa Blanca care should be taken before booking to ensure a problem free vacation, especially if you do not know the area. Read the adverts very carefully and assume nothing, if it does not mention a swimming pool you can be sure it doesn't have one, so if in doubt ask prior to doing anything.

You should be wary of claims of how many the holiday rental will sleep, I recommend no more than two people per bedroom and to avoid sofa beds in the lounge, they can be a real nuisance and are usually very uncomfortable. Some apartments and villas will supply a cot or fold up bed for a small child but may not supply the linen for them.

Read up on the area information as well, in fact double check it elsewhere, do not just rely on what the owners tell you. Important questions should include whether the rental is near the pool, beach, bars, restaurants and shops. You should read between the lines as well, for example, "very peaceful villa" could mean it is in the middle of nowhere or conversely, a "lively place" could mean it is very noisy and sooner or later you will want to sleep. Then you and your family will be able to enjoy your hard earned holiday on the Costa Blanca.
