It is not always easy working with printers. There are times when you experience problems that require simple troubleshooting skills. There are problems like the printer does not print out good quality outputs, especially on pictures. There are blotchy images or some colors do not come out at all. There are instances that the problem is not on the printer but on the color cartridges.

In cases wherein there is incorrect colors coming out or no color is coming out at all, it is time that you apply your troubleshooting skills. This is a simple task that you can easily do by yourself. You will only be required to do several steps to correct this problem.

Make sure that you are using the best quality of printing. To check this using Windows OS, you just click the 'Start' button, then 'Settings' and look for the printer that you wanted to work with. Once you clicked the printer, open the settings folder and choose the print quality that you prefer to use.

Use the required paper for your printer. If possible, use the same brand of paper and ink (black and color cartridge) that the manufacturers recommend since these are compatible with the printer. In case you are using a special type of paper, choose the proper definition for it.

Use the correct orientation of the paper. The glossy part is usually facing up so that when the printer 'eats' it, the print will come out on that area.

Start printing. If you see that the print out does not produce quality output, check the cartridges, both the black cartridge and the color cartridges.

Presence of white lines/spots or lighter output. Clean the nozzles of the print head because it is clogged.

Zigzag vertical lines on the output. The print head of the printer are misaligned. Realign the print head with the use of the printer's utility program. If you are not familiar with the procedure, it is always safe to check on your printer manual.

Missing color or inconsistent flow of color. Check if there is still enough ink. Replace the color cartridge, if necessary. If there is still enough ink, clean the print head because it might just be clogged.

You can also check the color setting to ensure that it is in the automatic mode. If you prefer to change or adjust it manually, make sure that you do this after you select the advanced color settings option.

Another thing that you should check is the condition of the printer and the paper that you are using for printing. Humidity is a great factor that can affect the output.

Sample print from time to time until you get the result that you want. If you have already achieved the output that you like, save your settings.

If you have tried everything and the result is still the same, it is best that bring your printer and color cartridge back to the manufacturer. You can ask them to check on it and do the necessary troubleshooting.
