So often I read articles both online and in magazines suggesting that the best way to get a girl back is to buy her a big bunches of flowers or to write lots of slushy love poems for her, and stuff like that.

And, you know something?

Every time I read such an article, I find myself shaking my head in disbelief that anybody would really believe that following such advice could ever work.

Think about it this way.

Did your find you attractive in the first place because you wrote love poems or bought flowers? Or, did she fall for you because you were strong, decisive and a person who made things happen?

I am hoping that the answer to that question is the latter, rather than the former!

If so, then why would you believe that buying flowers or writing love poems to get a girl back is going to be effective now?

Rather than thinking about sitting down to create soppy love poems to get a girl back, you should try to turn the clock back and once again become the person that she originally fell head over heels for. That is, the strong and exciting guy that she wanted in her life, not the sad, pathetic specimen that you have recently become.

So, the first thing that you must do is to stop feeling sorry for yourself, because no one else is feeling sorry for you, of that you can be certain.

Get a firm grip on your life, and stop looking inwards all of the time. Sure, you may be feeling desperate inside, but buying flowers or writing poems is only going to show your desperation to the whole world, and that is an additional weight on your shoulders that I am confident you do not need at the moment.

So, forget the flowers, poems or any other surefire signs of desperation, and start to make an effort to make her want you back.

Try to think back to what it was about you that your girl found attractive in the first place, and then set out to recreate that situation once again.

For example, if she found you attractive because you were extremely sporty, then get back to participating in sports as regularly as possible.

Not only will this make you feel better physically, but it may also remind her of what it was about you, that she liked so much back when you first met.

Of course, the thing that you must also do is to make sure that you or ex-girlfriend knows and understands what it is that you are doing. That is, she must be left in no uncertainty that you are getting on with your life perfectly adequately without her assistance.

This does not necessarily mean that you have to tell her, because that might just look petty and childish, but you should do everything you can to ensure that somebody does!

Maybe, as another example, it was your mutual interest in movies that brought you together.

In this case, you should again make certain that she knows that you have started taking an active interest in movies once again, especially if you can find movies that you know she would love to have watched with you.

See, it is all about taking your life back!

It is about showing her that, whilst you have been hurt, life still goes on, and, as the old saying goes, there really is ?no point in crying over spilt milk?.

So, please, forget the nonsense that you might read about penning love poems to get a girl back. It does not work in real life, and it is simply not going to work that way for you either.

On the contrary, show here that you are more determined and stronger than you ever were before, however, and you are giving yourself a fighting chance of getting her back, at the very least.
