What all goes into making a fast sports car?

For starters, it is going to be the appearance of the car. I know, we all normally get all goo-goo eyed as the candy red color, and the cool looking shapes, but all of that goes into making the car fast. The shapes of the cars are designed specifically foe aerodynamics.
