So you really want to get great abs. Getting a six pack is a much desired dream for many Americans, but unfortunately, 99% of those people will never get one. What is the problem here? How is it possible that so many people can't get the stomach they want? Is it lack of discipline? For many people it is a problem with discipline. They don't want to do the work; they think it's too hard and quit. Others don't see results and they quit out of frustration. Sticking to the routine that you set for yourself is half the battle. But the other half of this battle is just as important, and also the reason that many people get frustrated and quit, is because they don't know what they are doing and are ill-informed to achieve the greatest success.
To many people, getting shredded abs is right at the top of their priority lists, but they are going about getting them all wrong. This is because the American public has somehow convinced itself that doing thousands and thousands of crunches and sit ups will get rapid results. This is completely untrue. Getting an amazing six pack is not a one step process, it's a time consuming journey. You have to eliminate body fat to get your abs to show. You can have the best, strongest abs in the world, but if you have a layer of fat over them, people will never see them!
The most important thing to do is to lose body fat while building your muscles up. Getting rid of the body fat is incredibly hard, but it is doable. You must adhere to a strict low fat diet, and do regular cardio exercise that keep your heart rate pumping. Some of the best ways to keep your heart rate up is to: run, jog, jump-rope, Stairmasters, rowing machines etc There are also many different exercises to build your core abdominals, not just sit ups and crunches. You can do things such as leg raises and surprisingly pushups to build your muscles without expensive equipment. Whatever you decide to do, remain dedicated and you will see results.
There is no way I can stress doing cardio enough. The total fat loss that this provides is the only kind of fat loss. That's why people who only do crunches wont get the six pack. There is no such thing as targeted fat loss. To get muscles to show you have to reduce your total amount of body fat by as much as possible.
One thing to remember is to be persistent. Do not give up after two weeks! Be sure to continue trying and attempt to get into a routine. If you have a routine that you do every day, then it will be easier to get better results as you will stick with it. If you just exercises sporadically, then you will never see any results. With hard work, anything is possible.
