I'd try to function without them as I got older, especially on dates. Not a good idea. I would go to the movies, and I wouldn't be able to see what was happening, and driving home was a scary experience, I can tell you.

I remember one date I went on when I decided not to wear my glasses. We went to the local restaurant with some good friends of mine. I went to the restroom and when I came back at sat down at the wrong table. It took me a minute to realize that I was sitting across from a different guy. It was pretty shameful and kept me wearing my glasses from that time on.

It wasn't long after that incident that I had another routine eye examination. My optician told me that my eyes kept getting progressively worde on every visit to her. To slow things down, she suggested that I try contact lenses instead.

This was back in the day when soft contact lenses were a new thing. My optician and I had discussed wearing contacts before and she told me then that the traditional hard lenses would not work for me because of my large iris. wearing them would make thing worse. This time she suggested new Johnson and Johnson contact lenses that were soft and also had larger lenses.

I put in my new Johnson and Johnson contact lenses and couldn't believe how clear my vision was. They were also extremely comfortable. I was so happy because I new I would never have to wear my glasses again.

I am still wearing Johnson and Johnson contact lenses today. I now use the daily use disposable lenses. I wear them for a month and throw them away. There have been vast improvements in the lenses through the years. They are more comfortable and are made out of material that allows the eye to breath. The care is also very simple.

And the most important thing is that they are cheap. I can get a 1 year supply of my new lenses for less than I paid for my first pair. You can't say that about many other things, can you? And my eysight hasn't got any worse either.
