The difficulty comes when the original goal is sacrificed for the expediency of cash flow. It is normal for home-based businesses to diversify their offerings in order to derive an ongoing income. By shifting the focus away from the original vision the business will likely see a diminished capacity for ?vision? growth. The reason this is true is you will be pulled in so many different directions it will become almost impossibly to find the time to concentrate on fulfilling the original vision.

Even in early home-based business startups it is important to dedicate a portion of every day to the development of your original dream. Yes, it is likely you will need to accept other opportunities that will help you weather the storms of the initial startup phase of your business venture.
Too often the dream is sacrificed on the altar of practicality. Practicality becomes the means of a making a living. Making a living is what you did before you started your home-based business.
