Jobs At New Zealand
Thomas Pretty
Emigration to New Zealand has become increasingly popular for Brits as they seek to start a new life in a fabulous country. Added to the willingness of Brits to undergo emigration, the New Zealand Immigration Service has gone through a period of attempting to attract the largest skills base possible to fill deficits in the New Zealand economy. This process can be deemed a success as recent emigration figures clearly show.
The last batch of emigration figures illustrated the point that the efforts of the New Zealand authorities have been ultimately successful. Fulfilling the needs of the economy has been their primary concern and in this sense the process has been a success. In a global emigration climate that is becoming increasingly mobile and competitive, New Zealand is proving to be a world leader in attracting migrants.
The Immigration Minister stated that he was fundamentally happy with the emigration situation in New Zealand. He sees emigration as a way for the New Zealand economy to undergo a period of transformation; his understanding is that immigration will play a large role in attracting migrants with the right skills and attributes that will make them a valuable part of the culture and country.
In terms of emigration figures, recent releases show that levels are on the increase. Compared with the previous year, an increase of around twenty percent was clear. Whether this is due to the willingness of Brits to escape the madness of British culture and politics or seemingly the attractiveness of New Zealand is unclear, most likely it is a combination of the both.
During the previous year, it is believed that over one hundred thousand work permits were granted by the immigration service. Emigration hopefuls came from all manner of industry sectors, from the technological IT world to the rather more sedate horticultural business. This is unsurprising; the diverse needs of the New Zealand economy have meant that there are many people in Britain that will be eligible for emigration. The figure is a clear rise from figures in previous years; once again the reasons for this increase are unknown.
It is not just work permits that have been granted in record numbers; applications for residency are also on the increase. These emigration hopefuls were accepted at around a sixty percent success rate. Emigration is not always the easy option however; the stringent qualities needed to qualify for migration are extensive. The immigration service has a list of qualities they like to see in applicants such as certification as proof of good character as well as many others. If you do not meet these requirements it is doubtful that you will be able to start your new life in New Zealand.
New Zealand employers seemingly have an ongoing need for overseas workers. Predominantly these workers are skilled operatives who have emigrated due to their attributes and ability to perform a specific job, this may be a medical doctor or even a plasterer, there are many job types needed.
The figures form part of a continuing immigration strategy put in place by the New Zealand government. At the moment it seems to be successful as migrants are coming in record numbers. The only question that remains is that will anyone be left if everyone moves down under?
